Hai hai, welcome to the page about my graduation project. Evil's Integrity is an interactive story about prejudice, victim blaming, and the negative consequences of the label 'monster'. I chose Medusa, a classic misunderstood monster, and retold her story in a digital point-and-click game. The player is tasked to go to her castle KILL the evil monster. In the story you learn about her life, her struggles, and get to influence how the story ends.
This project was in collaboration with a lot of people. Julia Buijs did the writing, and Godfridus de Vries did the composition and sound design. Lena Umbgrove, Rolf Wienbelt, Ymke Slob, Jacqueline Damen, and Godfridus the Vries, did the voice acting.
This means I was the game designer, game developer, and game artist. The biggest thing I would change when I continue with (a project like) this, is that I will collaborate with a lot more people. I would either focus my roll on being the game artist, or the game director.
We got to exhibit our projects at HKU exposure 2024. I made a giant mural to surround the television where you could play the game.
This is a screenshot of the game. You could read along with the voice acting.
I cosplayed Medusa for the exposition.
